Recently, a post-LASIK showed a simulation of the type of vision she was experiencing. Specifically she felt that most of what she viewed looked like static or small pixels on the TV. We recently had a young man who underwent LASIK surgery last year. He was experiencing the same type of vision as this member wrote. The image below is a 3-D simulation of the vitreous field and the retina of this young man. The thick green blue structure seen here is a cross section of the retina. Note the hundreds if not thousands of tiny specks floating just above the retina. These are micro floaters that are casting their shadows onto the retina. This is why your visual field may appear to be pixelated. It has been my experience that floaters are not a rare complication of LASIK surgery.
